Field Day – Come Help the Kids Have a Blast

This Friday, May 19 is CGA Field Day at Schiller Park. For this event to be fun for all, CGA teachers are asking for volunteers and donations of a few supplies.  Thanks in advance for your help.

Elementary and middle school scholars will form separate teams, with half of the teams completing stations 1-5 in the morning and stations 6-10 in the afternoon and vice versa for the other half.

Schedule:

  • 9:30 AM Flag Ceremony
  • 10 AM Walk to Schiller Park
  • 12:10 AM Lunch (Packed lunch or school-provided lunch available)
  • 12:40 Field Day Events resume
  • 2:00 PM Return to CGA

Teacher Meal for Parent-Teacher Conference Night

On the evening of Tuesday, February 7, the PTO will provide a dinner for the teachers and staff who will be at school late for parent/teacher conferences.

A $5 donation is all it takes to feed one person! Help us feed the staff as a big thanks for their hard work.

To make a donation via PayPal, click CGA’s PayPal Donation link in the sidebar – be sure to write Teacher Meal in the note section!

Cash and check donations are also acceptable—please make checks out to Columbus Gifted Academy PTO and send to the school in an envelope clearly marked “Teacher Meal Donation”.

The meal will be Subway subs, chips, desserts and drinks. If you would prefer to donate an item, we are asking for bags of chips, desserts and cases of bottled water. E-mail [email protected] to let us know what you are donating. Donated items must be dropped off to the school by 3:30 PM on February 7.

Bake Sales – Instrumental Music Concerts

Columbus Gifted Academy PTO will be hosting Bake Sales after BOTH of the Instrumental Concerts.

  • Elementary, January 18, 6:00 – 7:30 PM
  • Middle School, January 26, 6;00 – 7:30 PM

Please bring baked goods to the school office on concert day by 3 PM or to the Library by 5:45 PM.

Items should be bagged in individual serving portions. NO NUTS, please. If your baked items meet any special dietary requirements (ex., gluten-free, vegan, sugar-free, dairy-free, etc.), please label them accordingly. Individual bags of chips/crackers are always appreciated, as are small bottled water or juice boxes.

Avast! The Book Fair is on the Horizon!

Autumn CGA BookfairThe Scholastic Book Fair is coming to CGA!

The big days are November 14 to November 18!

Students will have the opportunity to browse with their classes, then return to make purchases.  The book fair will be open the night of parent-teacher conferences, Wednesday, November 16th.

Online purchases can be made between November 6 and November 19.  Books purchased online will be shipped to CGA with no charge to you.  Purchases made through the CGA Book Fair page are a great way to fill holiday wish lists!

Volunteer to help out at the Book Fair.  School-day shifts are available now!
