A Latchkey Program at CGA – Phase 2

ben-franklins-key_smallHooray!  The Columbus City Schools Latchkey program received enough interest from CGA parents to move forward to the next step: actual registration!  Now, we must secure enough actual registrations for the program to move forward.

A registration session will be on Thursday, May 26th from 7:20-9:00 a.m. and 3:00-5:30 p.m.  Registration will take place on site at CGA. The registration fee is $30 for one child and $40 for two more children in the same home. 

Latchkey program staff ask that current Latchkey families register at their current location in case the numbers don’t support a program at CGA.  Families who aren’t currently using Latchkey but wish to guarantee a spot should also register for a backup location.  That way, families will be sure to have a spot somewhere. Automatic transfers to other programs cannot be provided because those programs may be full.  Staff will do their best to accommodate families while still maintaining staff/child ratios.

If you do register for Latchkey at two schools, save the receipt from the location where you register first. Bring it to the second registration as proof that you have paid the one-time registration fee.

Latchkey Interest Form

Latchkey interest forms were sent home in scholar’s bags on Friday afternoon.  If you are interested but didn’t receive a copy of the form, you can download a copy.

The Latchkey program must have a positive response for at least 25 students in the morning and 25 students in the afternoon in order to consider opening a Latchkey Center at CGA.

Forms need to be returned to main office by Friday, April 8.

January Bake Sales!

those who shop in bakeries!

CGA will be hosting TWO BAKE SALES next week.

  • On Tuesday, January 26 after the choral concert, the PTO will be holding a bake sale to benefit the PTO’s general fund.
  • On Thursday, January 28 after the instrumental concert, Mr. Scillia will be hosting a bake sale to benefit the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation

Please drop off individually bagged baked goods to the office on either day by 5 PM.

As a courtesy to those with allergies or dietary restrictions, NO NUTS, PLEASE, and list ingredients.

Non-perishable items not sold on Tuesday will be included in Thursday’s sale.
