Second Annual Spruce Up Day

  • Date & Time: Sunday, August 7 – 10 AM to 2 PM
  • Location: Columbus Gifted Academy – 387 E. Beck Street

This is a great way for incoming families to meet the Phoenix Community and become familiar with the environment.

An added bonus–families whose scholars are in grades 3-6 will be able to find out their classroom/teacher assignment!  Scholars in grades 7 & 8 will have the same team of teachers as last year.

The PTO will provide bottled water for everyone. After the success of our Potluck Picnic, we are requesting that each family bring something to share for lunch. Thanks in advance for your help.

  • By-Law Amendment Proposals – Vote @ September meeting
    1. Fiscal Year: Proposal to change PTO fiscal year to match common (specifically state of Ohio) fiscal year: July 1 to June 30 (would also affect PTO service period)
    2. PTO Board Expense Authority
      1. Current: Section 4: Duties a. Executive Board. Develop the PTO’s annual budget, establish and oversee committees to conduct the work of the PTO, establish fundraising programs, and approve by majority vote of the Board expenditures of no more than $200.

        1. No more than $400 from July 1 through September 30
        2. No more than $200 in unbudgeted expenditures from October 1 through June 30
