  • Call to Order:
      1. Meeting moved from Library to Mr. Leopold’s room.
      2. Attendance: approx 25, including board and staff
  • Mrs. R Report
      1. Thanks to PTO for Kooky’s Cookies at Back to School Night
      2. Thanks to scholars, staff, families, and cooler brigade for a smooth start to the school year
      3. Welcome Mr. Leopold and Mr. Scillia as staff representatives to the PTO
      4. Thanks to Miss Willis for Infinite Campus help
      5. Miss Alder and scholars sent blankets to Louisiana flood victims
      6. Interim reports:
        1. mailed to Middle School scholars on 9/30
        2. Sent home with Elementary School scholars on 9/30
      7. New Partner: Columbus Audubon Center
      8. Enrichment Clubs begin Monday 9/19
      9. No classes on 9/23 for Professional Development Day

        1. 2016-2017 Budget Approved (voice vote, no dissenting votes) View proposed budget
        2. Classroom Support discussion and vote to use the line item to reimburse teachers and staff up to the full amount budgeted divided equally among the staff. (voice vote, no dissenting votes)
        3. September Finance Report presented and discussed
          1. A possible error was pointed out in a formula on the report. Jennifer will verify and post an updated report if necessary.
          2. Members requested a list of PTO accounts and definitions. This will be made available.
      3. Vice President’s Report (Christina McMenemy)
        1. Spirit Wear will be ordered and delivered. Additional items will be presented at the next PTO meeting.

      1. Fiscal Year Vote: (moved to October meeting due to time) Proposal to change PTO fiscal year to match common (specifically state of Ohio) fiscal year: July 1 to June 30 (would also affect PTO service period)
      2. PTO Board Expense Authority Vote:(moved to October meeting due to time) Current: Section 4: Duties a. Executive Board. Develop the PTO’s annual budget, establish and oversee committees to conduct the work of the PTO, establish fundraising programs, and approve by majority vote of the Board expenditures of no more than $200.Proposed: Section 4: Duties a. Develop the PTO’s annual budget, establish and oversee committees to conduct the work of the PTO, establish fundraising programs, and approve by majority vote of the Board expenditures as follows:
        1. No more than $400 from July 1 through September 30
        2. No more than $200 in unbudgeted expenditures from October 1 through June 30
  • Library Spending
      1. Approved May 2016, but money not spent prior to the end of the fiscal year.
      2. Needed to be approved again by current PTO
