Teacher Appreciation Week

Next week (May 1 – 5) we will celebrate Teacher Appreciation Week. Help us say “Thank You!” to our terrific teachers at Columbus Gifted Academy.

The PTO is providing two meals for staff, gift cards, hallway banners, and other small tokens of appreciation. Scholars will have the opportunity to participate by making cards for their teachers and filling out a “Phoenix feather” with something that inspires them about CGA to adorn the Phoenix banner in the school.

We need your help to make the week extra special for staff:

  • Donate food or other items for Friday’s luncheon (see options here)
  • Encourage your scholar to make a card for their teacher and fill out a “Phoenix feather” (materials will be sent home with students on Monday, May 1) (help cut and hang feathers)
  • Donate a new/gently used book or game to your child’s classroom

Teacher Meal for Parent-Teacher Conference Night

On the evening of Tuesday, February 7, the PTO will provide a dinner for the teachers and staff who will be at school late for parent/teacher conferences.

A $5 donation is all it takes to feed one person! Help us feed the staff as a big thanks for their hard work.

To make a donation via PayPal, click CGA’s PayPal Donation link in the sidebar – be sure to write Teacher Meal in the note section!

Cash and check donations are also acceptable—please make checks out to Columbus Gifted Academy PTO and send to the school in an envelope clearly marked “Teacher Meal Donation”.

The meal will be Subway subs, chips, desserts and drinks. If you would prefer to donate an item, we are asking for bags of chips, desserts and cases of bottled water. E-mail [email protected] to let us know what you are donating. Donated items must be dropped off to the school by 3:30 PM on February 7.
